Cosmos Hotel has been in service since 1980, and was last refurbished in 2012.  Good job on their housekeeping as room was well kept.  The thing one can't beat is the location.  It is situated next to Taipei Train Station Exit 3M, where you can easily catch the metro to other sights and bus service 国光客運 traveling to or from Tao Yuen International Airport. It was easy for us to travel to Jiu Fen and Shi Fen early in the morning.

We managed to get hold of their Superior Double Room during year end countdown. Floor area is definitely much smaller and I can barely open my luggage.  Do note that some of their guest rooms are not fitted with windows, I do believe there are bigger floor space with their Deluxe room.

Tim Ho Wan is across the hotel and plenty of eateries as it is where their "Tuition" street is located, there are a lot of cheap and good eateries for students around these tuition centers.  One can easily get lost in the underground shopping area but look for Exit 3M to get back to Cosmos hotel.

Due to the popularity of this hotel, it gets very crowded during breakfast.  Good spread of western and local fare like noodles soup and porridge.  Tables get turned around very fast while I was there.

I don't think this is a room for disability given the size but the support handle should come in handy for elderly.
Quite impressed that Japanese toilet is fitted!
