HONG KONG (WHAT TO EAT) - WANTON NOODLES MAK'S NOODLES 麥奀雲吞麵世家
WANTON NOODLES MAK'S NOODLES 麥奀雲吞麵世家
I like egg noodles with a good bite, not the "Al dente" firm type, but a springy texture. So I always enjoy a good bowl of wanton noodles from Hong Kong. Traditionally, the size of a bowl of wonton noodles is relatively small. So, its a good snack and gives you more reason to stomach more yummy food after. These are the few noodles outlets that I tried and recommend.
Mak's Noodle has been reviewed by Anthony Bourdain and even have their wikipedia page so I was looking forward to an awesome bowl of wanton noodles. Duck eggs were used in making their noodles, there's no alkaline taste and had a springy texture. The egg noodles sits on top of bite size wantons, so as to maintain the texture of the noodles for as long as you are eating it.

All the wantons are placed at the bottom of the bowl to elevate the egg noodles above the broth, hence maintaining the springy texture of the egg noodles. |
